My First Time with False Lashes.

I finally broke my cherry when it comes to false lashes. In all my 36 years I have never, and I mean never, worn false lashes.

I've always had fairly sensitive eyes and talked myself out of false lashes by telling my self "I'll have a reaction to the glue" or something similar. However, I recently read an article from Cosmopolitan, where they tried out 100 different pairs and the tester also had sensitive eyes; they mentioned Duo lash glue being good for people with sensitive eyes, so after doing a bit of research I found that the Ardell lashes came with a tiny tube of Duo glue and thought I'd give false lashes a go.

I dropped into Superdrug and the Ardell lashes were on offer, most were half price, but I managed to pick up a pair with the Duo lash glue for £1.37, I couldn't leave them there for that. I also picked up a pair of Superdrug own brand lashes in Natural.

For my first attempt at putting lashes on, I used the Duo glue and the Superdrug lashes. I've not got the most patience in the world and I think I probably didn't wait long enough for the glue to go tacky, before trying to apply the lashes, as they didn't really want to stick. Then when I moved them they got stuck in the wrong place. I moved on the second lash, I did leave these a little longer and had fewer problems. I then went back to the first one, took it off, applied more glue, waited and tried again. This time it worked better, there was just one little problem. I'd put the lashes in the same place (left to right) on my lash line, but I think one set was slightly higher that the other as it wanted to lay more forward than the other. I wasn't going to sweat this as I was only going to visit my Mum and Dad.

My mum used to wear false lashes all the time when she was young and we had a good giggle about my application of the lashes, but for a first attempt neither she nor I thought I'd done a bad job.

The lashes were comfortable and didn't irritate my eyes, the glue was great, I didn't have a reaction to it and the lashes stayed on the entire time I was out. The lashes looked really natural, as my mum at first didn't even realise I was wearing lashes, (I've got pretty long lashes to start with).

All in all I was impressed with the superdrug lashes and with the glue. I probably won't wear false lashes all the time, but for special occasions or when I'm in the mood, I'll definitely be breaking them out again.

All the best
