My first ever cut crease... sort of.

I've watched a number of tutorials on cut crease eye shadow and read a few articles on hint, tips and hacks on how to achieve the look.

So I summed up the courage to give it ago.

First thing you need is a steady hand.

The next thing is make sure you use a matte base shadow or foundation powder.

On my first attempt I used foundation, powder and a pale yellow eye shadow

all over the lid as my base. This attempt failed as I hesitated with my brush for my initial line and the brush jumped all over the lid creating what looked like a Jackson Pollock (see right).

My second attempt was better, I still had a few problems with my brushes not gliding over the lid properly making the lines uneven and my left eye didn't match my right.

On my last attempt, I didn't put foundation on and just used powder on the lid. This seemed to work better. The brushes glided better and I had my eye in on where the line needed to be on the lid.

Please excuse my blood shot eyes, removing 2 rounds of eye make up was not my friend.

This a very subtle cut crease as I used a green gold for the cut crease.

This particular look is definitely going to need some practice. One to get my hand and eye in better for where the line for the crease sits on the lid and to try it out with bolder colours.

Once I had finished the cut crease I did clean up the edge using a detailer brush and cream concealer.

All in all I was pretty happy with how this turn out. A bit more practice and I may have this one down. One thing I will say is make sure you have a good quality, soft crease brush and a slim fine point brush, and then practice, practice, practice.

All the best
