Korean beauty from Boots

New year and new products.

I took a wander through Boots the other day and found that they have a new range of sheet masks that are made in Korea.

They are from the Boots Ingredients range and come in 5 different flavours - for want of a better word. They are: Roobios - Energising and Revitalising, Safflower and Peony - Luminous Youth, Charcoal and Willow Bark - Cleansing and Purifying, Lotus Flower and Tiger Lily - Radiance and Brightening, and Super Hyaluronic - Moisturising and Nourishing. They are all currently on a 2 for £3 or £2.50 each.

I bought the Roobios and the Lotus Flower and Tiger Lily, mainly because they have seemed so popular that these were the only ones left.

I will be trying to get hold of the others to try them out too.

I've had a pretty hectic week with network meetings, workload and personal stuff. So, this evening I thought I would give my skin a treat and have applied the Lotus Flower and Tiger Lily mask.

The smell: It's not over powering, smells fresh with hints of citrus.

The sheet its' self: Is like most sheet masks in that it has a cotton-y texture, is soft and moulds to the facial contours well, the nose hole however, seems a little large and doesn't cover the tip of my nose.

The serum: is milky in colour, but feels very rich.

The instructions for the mask are like most sheet masks in that you cleanse your skin, then apply the mask and wait 15 minutes. Once complete discard the mask and massage the remaining serum into the skin.

I followed the instruction, however, the serum hasn't been completely absorbed by my skin and does feel slightly tacky. I'll probably put a small amount of micellar water on a cotton pad and lightly remove the excess product, as I don't want to clog my pores.

There is grapefruit extract in this mask, which might explain the tingling feeling I had when I first applied the mask. In the Warnings section, it does say that the mask "May cause a tingling sensation." Which probably means there are AHA's in the mask serum, so make sure you use an SPF for 7 days after using the mask, as your skin can be more sensitive to sun damage after using AHA's.

When I have tried the other masks, I'll do an update :)

All the best
