Younique Concealer Review
A couple of weeks ago I found out that my favourite under-eye concealer was being discontinued by Garnier, panic ensued.
Once I calmed down and thought about it logically, it meant that I got to try out a whole new range of concealers, Yay!!
So I did a quick poll on Facebook to see what my friends suggested I try first. One friend suggested the Younique concealer. I'd never tried any of their makeup before, so thought I would give it a go. The friend in question sells Younique and sent me an online questionnaire to help decide which colour would best suit my skin tone. I have to say that it turned out eerily accurate. She then popped two samples of the concealer in the post, my friend had sent me "Scarlet" and "Organza".
Before the concealer arrived I looked at some video's on YouTube - this one is quite fun to watch - to get an idea of what to expect from the concealer.
I have now tried both colours in a couple of different ways, as under eye concealer, spot cover and I like to use concealer as an eye primer.
I have to say that the concealer performs really well, and has great coverage. I've used it with foundation and on its own and it lasts all day, with and without primer. It has a very thick consistency with a gel like feel and is highly pigmented. Once applied it's quite sticky, but as long as the concealer isn't too heavy dries fairly quick, so a little warning, if you're using this on the under eye area, be quick about setting and/ or baking with a powder.
All in all I have to say that this is a great concealer and a little bit does go a long way, AND there are 13 shades to choose from. The only draw back for me is that it's £23. I would say if you're in the mood to splurge on a concealer give it a go.
So for now I'm still on the look out for a good concealer. I would like to get my hands on the Tarte Shape Tape which again is on the pricier side of things at £19 but I can't seem to find a decent online shop that sells it. Will have to keep on searching.
